Physics Question from JEE Main 2023 · 10 April, Shift 2

If each diode has a forward bias resistance of 25Ω25 \, \Omega in the below circuit,

The figure shows: a rectangular circuit. The bottom branch holds the 5V5 \, \text{V} cell in series with a 25Ω25 \, \Omega resistor; the current it drives, I1I_1, is marked by an upward arrow on the left-hand vertical rail. Three identical branches run across from that left rail to the right-hand rail, each one a diode followed by a 125Ω125 \, \Omega resistor, with a rightward current arrow at its left end: the top branch carries I4I_4 through D1D_1, the second branch carries I3I_3 through D2D_2, and the third branch carries I2I_2 through D3D_3. D1D_1 and D3D_3 are drawn pointing right - anode on the left, cathode bar on the right, so along the direction of the branch arrows - while D2D_2 is drawn reversed, its cathode bar on the left and its triangle pointing back towards the rail.

  • A

    I1I2=2\frac{I_1}{I_2} = 2

  • B

    I2I3=1\frac{I_2}{I_3} = 1

  • C

    I3I4=1\frac{I_3}{I_4} = 1

  • D

    I1I2=1\frac{I_1}{I_2} = 1
