In reverse bias (V<0V < 0) the current holds a small, almost constant negative value as the reverse voltage is increased and then, at one particular reverse voltage, the curve turns sharply and the reverse current grows almost vertically. The negative II axis carries the marking 5(μA)5 \, (\mu\text{A}).
